On the occasion of World Quantum Day, Amaravati is set to host a significant milestone in India’s technological journey. Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will inaugurate two quantum computer test beds on April 14 at SRM University and Medha Towers as part of the Amaravati Quantum Valley initiative. The launch of these facilities marks the beginning of a new chapter in the country’s tech landscape, positioning Andhra Pradesh as a pioneer in quantum innovation.
The state will become the first in India to establish a quantum test reference facility capable of testing and certifying quantum computer hardware. Developed domestically, these facilities—named 1S and 1Q—are being set up by Qubitekk and SRM University. Operating at an extreme temperature of minus 273°C, the mini quantum computer test beds will support hardware testing and research. The open-access reference facility at SRM University will benefit companies, researchers, students, and experts working in the field of quantum computing.
