Amid rising tensions in West Asia, the United States is significantly increasing its military presence in the Gulf region. Around 3,500 marines and troops have been deployed within striking distance of Iran’s mainland and Kharg Island. It is estimated that over 50,000 US troops are already stationed in the region. Forces are reportedly on standby to launch attacks as soon as orders are issued by President Donald Trump. Additionally, the US is planning to deploy another 10,000 troops soon to further strengthen its position.
Iran has issued strong warnings, stating that any ground attack would be met with severe retaliation. Meanwhile, the US is reportedly planning to target Iran’s missile systems, air defense infrastructure, and naval routes. Washington believes that blockading Kharg Island, a key economic hub for Iran, could force Tehran into negotiations. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that the US is prepared for serious action if Iran fails to agree to a deal, warning of harsh consequences. The situation continues to escalate, raising concerns globally.
