

Unilever, a global leader in the consumer goods sector, has expressed interest in exploring the possibility of setting up a Global Capability Center (GCC) in Hyderabad. During the World Economic Forum meetings in Davos, the Telangana Rising team, led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, met with Unilever's Chief Supply Chain and Operations Officer, Willem Uijen. Extensive discussions were held on the establishment of a GCC in Telangana. The Chief Minister explained that Hyderabad is rapidly becoming a hub for Global Capability Centers, and Unilever representatives stated that they would consider this favorably.
IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu said that prominent FMCG companies like McDonald's, Heineken, and Costco already have successful GCCs operating in Hyderabad. He stated that Telangana is a business-friendly state and offers expedited approvals and licensing processes. During the meeting, the Telangana Rising team, including Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy, invited Unilever to explore investment opportunities in industrial parks. Discussions also covered aligning Unilever's goals of environmental protection, water conservation, and reducing plastic usage with Telangana state's renewable energy and circular economy initiatives.
