The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has announced that its prestigious Gaganyaan programme has entered a crucial phase. SHAR Director E.S. Padmakumar stated that the first uncrewed mission, Gaganyaan-1, will be launched later this year. Following the successful completion of the G-1, G-2 and G-3 missions, ISRO aims to carry out India’s first human spaceflight by 2027.
ISRO is targeting 20 to 25 space launches this year as part of its ambitious roadmap. As part of these plans, an Earth Observation satellite is expected to be launched in February or March. Officials said the Gaganyaan programme will mark a major milestone for India, placing the country among the select nations capable of independent human space missions.
