A tragic incident linked to contaminated drinking water has claimed the lives of ten people in Indore, creating shock and concern. According to official sources, the deaths occurred after polluted water entered the municipal supply lines, affecting several households.
Authorities stated that improper mixing of wastewater with the drinking water pipeline led to severe contamination. The incident reportedly took place on December 25, but the seriousness of the situation came to light after people developed serious health complications.
Municipal officials explained that chlorine treatment, which is meant to disinfect water, was either inadequate or improperly managed, allowing contaminated water to reach residents. Several people were hospitalized, and some remain under medical observation.
An inquiry has been initiated to determine lapses in water treatment and pipeline maintenance. Officials assured that corrective measures are being taken to prevent such incidents in the future and to ensure safe drinking water supply.
