The state government has initiated a review to assess how many candidates selected for Group services have actually joined their respective jobs. Departments have been directed to submit detailed reports on whether selected candidates reported within the stipulated time. Authorities have also been asked to provide information on vacant posts where candidates failed to join, so that these positions can be adjusted in future recruitment notifications. The government has already completed recruitments for Group-1, while filling 783 posts in Group-2, 1,365 in Group-3, and 8,180 in Group-4.
As per rules, candidates must join within 60 days of appointment; otherwise, the post is treated as declined and carried forward. In some cases, extensions are granted upon request. With results for Group-1 and Group-2 announced last September, Group-3 in December, and Group-4 completed a year ago, several candidates have still not reported for duty. Many opted for better opportunities, including central government jobs or higher-ranking posts. Some candidates initially selected for MPDO posts later chose executive roles in Group-2, while a few also cleared Civil Services. Meanwhile, Telangana State Public Service Commission has written to departments seeking immediate details on non-joining candidates.
