The Uttar Pradesh government is planning to introduce Tamil language classes in schools and colleges in Varanaasi. Officials stated that this initiative is aimed at strengthening cultural and linguistic integration. The program will be implemented in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Kashi–Tamil Sangamam’ vision.
As part of this initiative, the Government Queen’s College is preparing to start Tamil language classes every evening. College Principal Sumit Kumar stated that the District Schools Inspector has directed the institution to conduct these classes.
Additionally, the government is also considering sending around 50 teachers from Varanaasi to Tamil Nadu to teach Hindi. Through this exchange program, the government aims to further strengthen linguistic and cultural ties between the two states.
