The Supreme Court has granted relief to former SIB chief Prabhakar Rao in the Telangana phone tapping case. The bench led by Justice B. V. Nagarathna converted the interim bail previously granted to him into regular bail. The decision provides temporary relief to the accused amid the ongoing investigation into the high-profile case.
The court, however, directed Prabhakar Rao to fully cooperate with the investigation. It also ordered him to surrender his passport before the trial court and submit an appropriate surety bond as part of the bail conditions. The investigation into the phone tapping case is still underway.
