QR code-based information boards have been installed along National Highway-71 between Madanapalle in Annamayya district and Naidupeta in Tirupati district to provide real-time road and service details to commuters. National Highways Authority of India has introduced this system to improve transparency and user convenience on highways. By scanning the QR codes using mobile phones, travellers can access details about road conditions, ongoing works, contractors, and overall road quality.
The system also provides information about nearby toll plazas, hotels, emergency services, and important contact numbers. Officials say the initiative aims to enhance transparency and improve accessibility of essential travel services for highway users.
