A horrific accident near the Navale Bridge on the Mumbai–Bengaluru Highway claimed seven lives on Thursday when a car was crushed between two container trucks, both of which caught fire. The impact was so severe that the car was flattened instantly. Officials also confirmed that 8–10 people suffered injuries in the multi-vehicle collision on the outskirts of Pune.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Sambhaji Kadam, a heavy container truck travelling towards Mumbai lost control due to a suspected brake failure. It rammed into another container truck moving ahead, and the car trapped between them was completely crushed. Fire and rescue teams rushed to the spot and carried out relief operations.
