Telugu Desam Party’s four-decade parliamentary legacy once again came into sharp focus as newly elected MP Krishna Prasad Tenneti made a powerful impression in the Lok Sabha. Serving as the presiding Chair during a heated session, Tenneti asserted authority with composure and firmness, reminding members of the decorum expected in the House. His handling of the proceedings drew attention across party lines and reflected TDP’s long-standing tradition of strong parliamentary presence.
The moment turned intense when Congress MP K.C. Venugopal addressed the Chair using the word “yaar,” prompting an immediate reprimand from Chairperson Krishna Prasad, who termed it inappropriate parliamentary language. He later stated that objections were raised not just over the usage of the word, but also over disorderly conduct such as rushing to the Table and tearing papers. A former IPS officer and ex-DGP of Telangana, Krishna Prasad’s deep understanding of constitutional procedure and parliamentary rules was evident as he firmly rejected any form of disrespect or indiscipline from opposition members.
