Hyderabad police have imposed strict regulations for New Year celebrations on the night of December 31 and January 1. City Police Commissioner V.C. Sajjanar announced that star hotels, clubs, bars, restaurants, and pubs must apply for official permission at least 15 days in advance to conduct celebrations. He emphasized that all arrangements must strictly follow guidelines to ensure public safety and maintain law and order without causing inconvenience to citizens.
According to the rules, CCTV cameras are mandatory at entry and exit points of event venues, and adequate staff must be deployed for guest safety and traffic management. Obscene dances or indecent behavior will not be permitted. Loudspeakers and DJ systems in open areas must be stopped by 10 PM, while indoor music is allowed only until 1 AM with a sound limit of 45 decibels. Firecrackers are completely banned, proper parking arrangements are compulsory, and minors are strictly prohibited from entering pubs and bars. Any sale or use of drugs will attract severe legal action.
Police also stressed safety after celebrations. Pub and bar owners must arrange cabs or drivers to ensure customers reach their destinations safely. Anyone caught drunk driving will face a criminal case, vehicle seizure, and court action. The court may impose a fine of ₹10,000 or up to six months of imprisonment, and driving licenses may be suspended for three months or permanently. If minors are caught driving or involved in accidents, vehicle owners will be held responsible. Special She Teams will be deployed across the city, and strict action will be taken against anyone misbehaving with women.
