Iran has officially announced that Mojtaba Khamenei has been chosen as the country’s new Supreme Leader. He is the second son of the current Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei. This decision is seen as an important development in Iran’s political leadership.
The selection was made by the Assembly of Experts, a council made up of 88 members. Reports say that Mojtaba Khamenei was chosen through a decisive vote by the council. He is currently 56 years old.
Officials also called on the people of Iran to maintain unity and support the new leader. They said the country should move forward together with cooperation and stability.
