Telangana ministers formally invited K. Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) to attend the world-famous Medaram Jatara, meeting him personally at his farmhouse to extend the invitation. Speaking to the media after the meeting, Minister Seethakka said that while invitations were given to all party floor leaders during the Assembly sessions, she could not meet KCR then, prompting the ministers to visit him in person. Emphasising that Medaram is a traditional, apolitical festival, she highlighted its significance as the world’s largest tribal congregation dedicated to Sammakka–Saralamma.
The ministers invited KCR and his wife Shobhamma in a traditional manner, presenting sarees and offerings associated with the Jatara. KCR accepted the invitation and conveyed that he would attend the Medaram Jatara. Minister Seethakka noted that politics had no place in the context of the festival, which has long been celebrated as a state festival transcending regions and parties. She added that the warm reception and exchange of traditional gifts at KCR’s residence reflected the cultural spirit of the occasion.
