Serious irregularities by revenue officials have come to light in Suryapet, Wanaparthy and Nalgonda districts. Authorities are accused of issuing agricultural passbooks even for lands converted for non-agricultural use and allowing registrations on disputed lands. In Suryapet’s Survey No. 71, land converted years ago was still recorded as agricultural and passbooks were issued despite objections. Even after requests to include such lands in restricted lists, officials ignored them and continued registrations citing records.
The issue became more complex as ownership disputes continued for years. Land originally sold decades ago later became the subject of forgery allegations, leading to multiple legal cases and even appeals in higher courts. Despite the matter not being fully closed, transactions were still allowed and plots were sold to around 40 people. Victims have now complained to higher authorities, seeking a full investigation into the actions of local revenue officials.
Further concerns arose when succession approvals and passbook issuance were allegedly completed in a single day, even though the process normally takes at least 15 days with proper verification. Similar irregularities were reported in other areas, where lands were wrongly recorded under different names, causing hardship to rightful owners. In some cases, officials gave conflicting reports for the same land, approving one claim while rejecting another. Victims across districts are demanding justice and action against negligent officials.
