In a press conference held in Hyderabad, BRS legislative party deputy leader Harish Rao alleged that massive scams have taken place in the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL). He criticized that these irregularities in solar power, explosives, Prakasham Khani, and Srirampur OB projects were committed solely for the benefit of a close relative of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. He further stated that the notices issued to him and KTR in the phone tapping case were intended to divert public attention from these irregularities. He released a letter demanding that Union Minister Kishan Reddy order an investigation into all these matters by central investigative agencies.
Harish Rao stated that a scam has been unearthed in the Singareni tenders under the guise of site visit certification. He alleged that a single tender was called for 107 megawatts in the solar power projects, and rules were put in place to prevent MSMEs from participating, thereby benefiting favored companies. He claimed that approximately Rs. 250 crore in undue profit was facilitated in the Ramagundam solar scam, and similar irregularities occurred in another 67-megawatt project.
He also revealed that one director resigned due to pressure to purchase gelatin sticks at inflated prices, while another director was removed from their position. He alleged that delays in the tenders for Prakasham Khani and Srirampur OB projects were orchestrated to facilitate these irregularities. Harish Rao demanded that all these tenders be cancelled immediately and an independent inquiry be conducted.
