Rajat Patidar’s journey is a remarkable example of perseverance and determination in cricket. Once an unsold player in the IPL auction, he has now become the captain who led Royal Challengers Bengaluru to back-to-back IPL titles. After being released by the franchise and going unsold in the 2022 mega auction, Patidar received a second chance as a replacement player and grabbed it with both hands.
From that point onward, his career took a dramatic turn. He impressed with match winning performances, overcame injury setbacks, and emerged as a key player for the franchise. In 2025, he guided Bengaluru to its maiden IPL title as captain, ending a long wait for the trophy. He followed it up with another championship winning campaign in 2026, cementing his place among the most inspiring leaders in IPL history.
