A sudden fire broke out on Saturday morning at the Union Bank located in Gudivada of Krishna district. Thick smoke started emerging from the bank building on the bypass road, causing panic among the local residents. As the smoke spread rapidly, tension prevailed in the surrounding area.
Locals immediately informed the police and the fire department. Fire fighters rushed to the spot and began efforts to bring the flames under control. To access the interior of the bank, the fire personnel broke the glass windows and started spraying water inside. Officials stated that it may take some more time for the fire to be fully contained.
Preliminary reports suggest that several items inside the bank, including computers, furniture, and documents, have been damaged in the fire. Bank authorities suspect that the incident might have been caused by an electrical short circuit. People are being kept away from the accident site as a precaution. More details about the incident are awaited.
