Indian Railways has introduced key revisions to its ticket cancellation and boarding point rules, offering greater flexibility and improved refunds for passengers. As per the updated policy, passengers cancelling their tickets at least 72 hours before the scheduled departure of the train will be eligible for an almost full refund, with only minimal cancellation charges being deducted.
For cancellations made between 72 hours and 24 hours prior to departure, passengers will receive a 75 percent refund. If tickets are cancelled between 24 hours and 8 hours before departure, a 50 percent refund will be provided. These changes aim to enhance passenger convenience and bring more clarity to the refund structure.
