The Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police have intensified their investigation in the iBomma Ravi piracy case, and several crucial details have reportedly come to light. Ravi has been under police custody for two days, during which he was questioned for over six hours on the second day alone. Officials have now prepared to continue questioning him for the third consecutive day.
According to investigation sources, the police are gathering information about the people who supplied films to Ravi and those who collaborated with him. They are also probing his connections with agents and operators of various online gaming apps.
During interrogation, it was revealed that Ravi had been purchasing pirated movies from Tamil and Hindi websites, particularly from the notorious website MovieRulz. He confessed to paying MovieRulz through cryptocurrency.
Investigators have also discovered that iBomma was being used as a gateway for betting apps, through which Ravi allegedly earned money and then used those funds to buy films illegally. To increase traffic, he consistently uploaded high-quality pirated content, which helped the platform grow rapidly.
Shockingly, the Cyber Crime team found that Ravi had set up a dedicated office in the Caribbean Islands to run these illegal operations and had hired around 20 young individuals to assist him.
This investigation is expected to uncover more layers of the massive piracy and betting network linked to iBomma.
