Heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and hailstorms lashed parts of Telangana, particularly in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district, Siddipet district, and Nirmal district, on Monday. The sudden change in weather caused waterlogging on several roads, disrupting normal movement and catching residents off guard.
The impact was severe in Kaleshwaram, where intense hailstorms and gusty winds caused significant damage. Electricity poles were uprooted, power lines snapped, and supply was disrupted in several areas, while fallen trees added to local difficulties.
Farmers suffered major losses as crops such as chilli, cotton, and vegetables were badly damaged by the hail and rain. Authorities have begun field-level assessments to estimate losses and are taking steps to restore electricity and provide necessary support to affected farmers.
