For the first time since India’s independence in 1947, the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) is being relocated. The PMO, which has been functioning from the South Block, will move to the new building at the Seva Tirth Complex in Central Vista. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to enter the new PMO on January 14, coinciding with Makar Sankranti. The complex also houses the Cabinet Secretariat and the National Security Secretariat, and the new PMO has been constructed with modern facilities.
