The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has provisionally attached 'Abode', the luxurious 17-storey residential property of industrialist Anil Ambani located in Mumbai's upscale Pali Hill, valued at approximately Rs 3,716.83 crore. This action was taken under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged bank fraud involving Reliance Communications Ltd (RCOM).
According to the agency, the property was reportedly structured into a family trust to shield it from personal liabilities and keep it beyond the reach of lender banks. With this latest move, the total value of assets attached in this high-profile case has reached nearly Rs 15,700 crore, marking a significant escalation in the federal probe into the financial irregularities of the Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group.
