

A major boiler explosion at the Vedanta Limited power plant in Singhitarai, Sakti district of Chhattisgarh, occurred on Tuesday, resulting in the death of 13 workers and injuries to 21 others. According to preliminary reports, the explosion took place in a boiler tube during the afternoon shift, causing severe damage inside the plant.
Following the incident, local administration and police teams rushed to the spot and launched rescue operations. The injured were immediately shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and assured support to the victims’ families. He also announced an ex-gratia of ₹5 lakh for the families of the deceased and ₹50,000 for the injured, along with a detailed investigation into the incident.
