Hyderabad is set to witness a major transformation in its public transport system, as 915 new electric buses have been sanctioned under the PM E-Drive Scheme. The project has been awarded to a consortium of EKA Mobility and GreenCell Mobility, with implementation led by Convergence Energy Services Limited. These buses aim to provide eco-friendly and efficient transport solutions for city residents.
Out of the total fleet, 100 mini buses will be deployed in narrow roads and residential areas, while 815 standard non AC buses will operate on major routes to handle heavy passenger traffic. Designed with advanced technology, these fully electric buses will reduce pollution and offer safe and comfortable travel. The initiative is part of a broader effort to make the city cleaner and smarter, aligning with national sustainability goals.
