People in Andhra Pradesh’s coastal districts are still recovering from the damage caused by Cyclone Montha, and now the weather department has issued an alert about another possible cyclone forming in the Bay of Bengal. According to officials, a new system is expected to develop on November 22, prompting disaster management teams to stay on high alert. A depression is likely to form over the southeast Bay of Bengal on Thursday, and it may intensify into a cyclone within the next 48 hours. Weather experts say the system will move in a west-northwest direction as it strengthens, eventually becoming more active over the southwest Bay of Bengal.
The depression is currently moving southwestward over the region. Due to its impact, Prakasam, Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore, Chittoor, and Tirupati districts are expected to receive moderate rainfall on Thursday. On Friday, Krishna, Bapatla, Prakasam, Sri Potti Sriramulu Nellore, Chittoor, and Tirupati districts may experience light to moderate rain, according to the Disaster Management Department.
