Union Home Minister Amit Shah delivered a strong message after the deadly car explosion near Red Fort that killed 11 people and injured 21 others. He said the government would ensure “the strictest punishment” for everyone involved in the terror attack and added that the action taken would send a message across the world, making it clear that no one would dare attempt such an act in India again. The Union Cabinet also condemned the explosion, calling it a “heinous terror incident” carried out by anti-national forces, and directed agencies to identify the perpetrators, their collaborators, and those who financed the attack.
The blast occurred around 6:50 pm, when a car slowed at a traffic signal near the Red Fort. The impact was so powerful that charred body parts were scattered far from the site. Addressing an event in Gujarat through video conference, Amit Shah assured that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve to punish every individual linked to the terror incident would be completely fulfilled. He reiterated that the investigation would track every link in the chain leading to those responsible.
