An unknown virus is once again worrying poultry farmers in Nagarkurnool district of Telangana. Around 10,000 chickens reportedly died in just one day, creating concern in the area. The sudden deaths have caused fear and heavy losses for small poultry farmers.
In Chinnapuravupalli village of Peddakothapalli mandal in the Kollapur constituency, about 5,000 chickens died. In Ramreddypalli Thanda of Nagarkurnool mandal, around 1,500 chickens also died. Reports say that nearly 4,000 more chickens died in other parts of the district.
Officials have started looking into the matter to find the reason behind these deaths. Forensic experts are expected to visit Nagarkurnool on Monday to study the virus affecting the chickens and find the exact cause.
