A large number of devotees thronged the Simhachalam Temple as the Chandanotsavam celebrations began peacefully. Andhra Pradesh Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha offered silk clothes to Lord Appanna on behalf of the state government and later had darshan along with her family. After the first ceremonial darshan by Pusapati Ashok Gajapathi Raju, the temple authorities allowed general devotees for darshan.
The Home Minister stated that the offering was made with the blessings of the deity and Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu. She added that all arrangements were made to ensure smooth darshan and avoid traffic issues. Around 3,000 police personnel have been deployed for security, and she personally reviewed the queue lines. Officials confirmed that darshan is progressing smoothly, with 6,700 devotees visiting between 3:00 AM and 4:30 AM.
