Ramoji Film City Showcases India’s Film Production Strengths at Toronto International Film Festival

Ramoji Group CMD C.H. Kiran highlighted the factors behind the success of Ramoji Film City (RFC), stating that clients’ confidence in its ability to provide a comfortable, creative and time-efficient filmmaking environment, along with transparency in operations and world-class management capabilities, has been a key strength. Kiran attended the Bharat Parv reception held as part of the 51st Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) in Toronto, Canada, as a special guest. During a panel discussion on “New Opportunities in India’s Media and Entertainment Sector,” he spoke about RFC’s capabilities and the opportunities available to international filmmakers. Ramoji Film City Managing Director C.H. Vijayaswari and ETV Managing Director K. Bapinidu also participated in the discussion and were felicitated by the organisers. The event was organised by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the National Film Development Corporation of India in association with the Consulate General of India in Toronto. Creative industry professionals and filmmakers from India and Canada attended the programme.

Kiran explained that Ramoji Film City, spread across nearly 2,000 acres in Hyderabad, holds a Guinness World Records recognition as the world’s largest film studio complex. He highlighted its extensive production and post-production infrastructure, offering services across the filmmaking process. According to Kiran, filmmakers can access facilities ranging from shooting to post-production at a single location, while the RFC team works around the clock to meet production schedules. The team also explained the advantages for Canadian and American filmmakers who have not previously shot films in India. Kiran, Vijayaswari and Bapinidu met Canadian federal cultural affairs minister Marc Miller and discussed opportunities for cooperation between India and Canada in the media and entertainment sectors. The India Pavilion at the TIFF market is also showcasing India’s filmmaking capabilities, with RFC presenting its integrated production infrastructure. Indian officials invited Canadian filmmakers, studios and distributors to participate in initiatives such as WAVES Summit 2027 and explore opportunities in co-production, market partnerships, international content creation, animation, VFX, gaming and global distribution.
