‘Bhadrakali Pictures’ producer Pranay Reddy Vanga has strongly criticised the growing trend of fake box-office collection posters in the Telugu film industry. He warned that while production houses may not suffer immediate consequences from exaggerating a film’s earnings, such claims can seriously damage the market value of the actors, directors and technicians associated with the project. He said misleading audiences and the industry with inflated figures could have long-term consequences.
Pranay Reddy Vanga further remarked that no matter how many false numbers are promoted to create an impression about a film’s market, the actual theatrical performance will eventually remain the real benchmark. He also observed that one of the major reasons behind the failure of several films in recent times is spending beyond the originally planned budgets. His comments have sparked discussion about transparency and responsible reporting of box-office collections.
