As a senior MLA and a top hero, Nandamuri Balakrishna has earned yet another rare honour. At the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), currently being held in Goa, he received special recognition. This prestigious cultural event, attended by film personalities from various languages across the country, began grandly on Thursday.
Balakrishna, who recently completed 50 years in cinema, was felicitated with great respect. Goa Governor P. Ashok Gajapathi Raju, Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, and Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting L. Murugan attended the event as chief guests and congratulated Balayya.
Speaking on the occasion, Balakrishna expressed heartfelt thanks to his fans, directors, and producers who supported him throughout his five-decade journey. He remembered the inspiration given by his parents, NTR and Basavatarakam, and stated that he would continue their legacy. He also extended special thanks to his wife, Vasundhara, for being a key pillar of support in his success. It is known that the central government recently honoured him with the Padma Bhushan for his contributions to Indian cinema.
Balayya’s film Akhanda 2 is ready for release, and he will soon be seen in a mythological action drama directed by Gopichand Malineni.
