Nandamuri Balakrishna, one of Telugu cinema’s most celebrated stars, has carved a remarkable legacy spanning more than five decades. Born on June 10, 1960, as the son of legendary actor and former Chief Minister N.T. Rama Rao, Balakrishna made his screen debut as a child artist in Tatamma Kala in 1974. After facing initial setbacks as a lead actor, he rose to prominence with Mangammagari Manavadu, which became a historic blockbuster and established him as a major force in Telugu cinema. Over the years, films such as Samarasimha Reddy, Narasimha Naidu, Simha, Legend, and Akhanda strengthened his reputation as a mass entertainer and box-office phenomenon.
Beyond cinema, Balakrishna has earned recognition for his discipline, political career, and social service. He has been elected as the MLA of Hindupur for three consecutive terms and continues to play an active role in public life. As Chairman of Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital, he has contributed significantly to healthcare and charitable initiatives. Honoured by the World Book of Records for his enduring contribution to cinema, Balakrishna continues to enjoy immense popularity across generations. As he celebrates his birthday, fans and well-wishers are extending heartfelt greetings to the actor, leader, and philanthropist.
