Veteran cinematographer S. Soundararajan has described Nagabandham as a film designed to deliver a grand theatrical experience to audiences. Directed by Abhishek Nama and starring Virat Karna, the film blends mythology, fantasy, and drama into an epic cinematic journey. Speaking ahead of the film’s release on July 3, Soundararajan said he has worked on several large-scale productions in his career, but Nagabandham remains one of the most special projects he has undertaken. He revealed that he joined the project during the script development stage and was deeply impressed by the director’s ambitious vision.
The team extensively researched famous temples, including the revered Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, before recreating massive temple-inspired sets for filming. Soundararajan noted that handling such enormous sets and lighting them effectively was one of the biggest challenges of his career. A high-end drone was used to capture an elaborate single-shot sequence stretching from a temple entrance to the deity’s sanctum. Filming took place across Hyderabad, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and the Himalayas. He added that the entire cast and crew approached the project with devotion and dedication, ensuring that every visual, musical score, and cinematic element contributes to a spiritually immersive experience unlike anything audiences have seen before.
