The Congress high command is reportedly gearing up for organisational changes as part of its strategy for the party’s future political plans. The leadership is working on appointing new AICC in-charges for Telangana and two to three other states. At the same time, new Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) presidents are expected to be appointed in five to six states soon. For Telangana, the name of A. Chellakumar is reportedly being considered for the AICC in-charge post.
The proposed change comes as the current Telangana AICC in-charge, Meenakshi Natarajan, is set to travel to London on September 18 to pursue higher studies. She is expected to stay away from active Congress politics for around 10 months. Against this backdrop, the high command is considering a change in the Telangana in-charge and is examining suitable names as part of its broader organisational exercise.
