

After a protracted fight with thyroid cancer, veteran Kannada actor Harish Roy passed away in Bengaluru on November 6. Despite receiving ongoing medical attention at Kidwai Cancer Hospital, his condition worsened over the past few months. His death marks the loss of a familiar and respected face in Kannada cinema, leaving the industry and fans in deep sorrow.
Harish Roy, who started his acting career in the early 1990s, gained widespread recognition for his commanding presence on screen. In movies like Om, Nalla, Raj Bahaddur, Sanju Weds Geetha, and the popular KGF series, he gave standout performances. Harish gained a lot of respect for his versatility and intensity as an actor, and he was well-known for playing tough, strong characters.
Harish Roy talked openly about his financial difficulties and health issues in his last years. KGF star Yash was among the many members of the film community who came forward to offer him support while he was receiving treatment. Harish maintained his humility, groundedness, and love for his work in the face of suffering and adversity.
