A string of injuries involving leading Tollywood actors has become a growing concern for the Telugu film industry. With pan-India films demanding extensive action sequences and prolonged shooting schedules, several stars have sustained injuries either during filming or while preparing for physically demanding roles. Most recently, NTR suffered a shoulder injury and was advised by doctors to take six to eight weeks of rest. Ram Charan recently underwent wrist surgery following an injury sustained during the shooting of Peddi, while Varun Tej has been recovering from a leg injury suffered during preparations for Bari. These incidents have disrupted production schedules and delayed several high-profile projects.
In recent months, Balakrishna underwent knee surgery after sustaining an injury during the filming of his 111th project, while Pawan Kalyan underwent shoulder surgery in Mumbai and is reportedly expected to undergo another procedure. Chiranjeevi successfully recovered after shoulder surgery earlier this year and has resumed shooting for his next film. Prabhas also completed treatment for recurring injuries linked to earlier action films. Industry observers note that the increasing scale of action-oriented cinema, coupled with actors performing demanding stunts with greater realism, has significantly raised the risk of on-set injuries. Fans across the country continue to wish for the speedy recovery of their favourite stars.
