Even after completing 22 years as a heroine, Nayanthara continues to receive back-to-back offers as a leading lady — a fact that surprises and even shocks many. Her demand itself explains why she truly deserves the title “Lady Superstar.” She currently has not just one or two, but nine films in hand. She reportedly has no dates left to sign new projects.
Recently, Nayanthara was finalized as the lead actress in the upcoming periodic action drama starring Balakrishna and directed by Gopichand Malineni. This marks her fourth collaboration with Balayya, raising high expectations among fans.
Her film with Chiranjeevi, “Man Shankara Varaprasad Garu,” is set for a Sankranti 2026 release. Yash’s “Toxic” has completed 50% of its shoot and is gearing up for a March release. Director Sundar C’s big-budget sequel “Mookuthi Amman 2” is reportedly doing huge business solely because of Nayanthara’s name, with nearly half its budget recovered through OTT rights.
In addition, Malayalam films “Dear Students” and “Patriot,” along with Tamil films “Mannan Katti Since 1960,” “Hai,” and “Rakkayi,” are in production. All these films are expected to release in 2026.
Despite young heroines like Sreeleela and Rashmika Mandanna dominating the industry, Nayanthara continuing to stay in such high demand is remarkable. Managing such a tight schedule while being a mother of two is no small task.
Her husband Vignesh Shivan’s film “Love Insurance Company” is set to release in the third week of December. Although Nayanthara is not part of the cast, she is excited and hopeful for Vignesh’s comeback hit after a long gap.
She was also approached for Trivikram–Venkatesh’s film, but for unknown reasons, the combination didn’t materialize. Looking at Nayanthara’s lineup, it’s no surprise that many senior actresses feel envious.
