Atlee Reveals Why Sai Abhyankkar Was Chosen as Music Composer for ‘Raka’

Director Atlee has opened up about the process behind selecting Sai Abhyankkar as the music composer for his upcoming film ‘Raka’. Atlee revealed that he was initially unsure whether to approach Anirudh Ravichander or GV Prakash Kumar for the project. He also said that changing music composers for every film has been his usual practice. Eventually, he approached producer Maran and requested him to give Sai Abhyankkar the opportunity to compose the music for ‘Raka’. According to Atlee, Maran immediately agreed to the suggestion.

Atlee further described ‘Raka’ as Sai Abhyankkar’s first film and advised the young composer to remain humble. He praised Sai’s musical ability while referring to established composers such as Ilaiyaraaja, Harris Jayaraj, Yuvan Shankar Raja, A.R. Rahman and Anirudh Ravichander. Atlee expressed confidence that Sai’s music for ‘Raka’ could remain memorable for years and added that the songs and background score would appeal to audiences. His comments have increased curiosity around the film’s music even before its release.
