Sleep needs vary greatly across different stages of life, and understanding how much rest the body requires can help improve both physical and mental well-being. Newborns need the most sleep, as their bodies and brains are rapidly developing during the early months.
Newborns (up to 3 months old) require around 14 to 17 hours of sleep per day, while infants and young children need 12 to 16 hours and 10 to 14 hours, respectively. As children grow, their need for sleep gradually decreases but remains vital for healthy growth and learning.
Teenagers are recommended to get 8 to 10 hours of sleep daily, while adults function best with 7 to 9 hours each night. Getting the right amount of sleep not only boosts concentration and energy levels but also supports emotional balance and long-term health.
