Viveka Murder Case Trial Delay Over Repeated Pleas

The CBI special court has raised objections over the repeated petitions filed in the Viveka murder case, observing that such proceedings are affecting the speed of the trial. The court stated that an additional investigation was already carried out by the CBI as per earlier directions and the findings were submitted in a report.

The court highlighted that criminal investigations cannot continue indefinitely and further directions for another probe could delay the trial process even more. The Supreme Court has already instructed that the case should be heard and completed at the earliest, the court noted while delivering its observations.
