Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has been closely monitoring preparedness and relief operations following Cyclone Arnab, which caused extensive damage across several parts of the state. For four consecutive days, he has focused on minimising loss of life and property, as well as ensuring timely assistance to affected communities. Since Tuesday, the Chief Minister has held a series of reviews to keep officials alert at every level. He continued consultations with officials until 2 am on Wednesday and resumed teleconferences and review meetings at 6.15 am. By Wednesday night, he had conducted 10 review meetings and teleconferences over three days, while directing ministers and officials to visit affected areas.
On Wednesday, Chandrababu reached the Secretariat amid heavy rain and remained there until night to monitor the situation. On Thursday, he chaired a virtual Cabinet meeting, with relief and rehabilitation measures forming the main agenda. After the meeting, he conducted an aerial survey of cyclone-hit areas and visited Mummidivaram in Dr B.R. Ambedkar Konaseema district to reassure affected residents. He later held another review meeting with officials for two and a half hours at his camp office. The Chief Minister is scheduled to visit flood-affected areas in West Godavari district on Friday. He has instructed officials to continue assistance until every affected person receives support and set a target to complete power restoration across all areas by Sunday.
