The United States has officially renamed its Indo-Pacific Command as the US Pacific Command, removing the word “Indo” from its designation. The Department of Defense clarified that the change is administrative in nature and does not affect the responsibilities or operational scope of the command.
The decision comes ahead of a high-level meeting between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former US President Donald Trump, drawing global attention. Officials emphasized that despite the name change, the strategic focus and duties of the command remain unchanged across the region.
