Rivers and streams are overflowing in several parts of Andhra Pradesh’s Anakapalli district following heavy inflows, disrupting road connectivity and causing difficulties for commuters. Several causeways and bridges have reportedly been washed away at different locations. In the Madugula constituency, the Thacheru stream is overflowing, with floodwater flowing over an old bridge and making the route unsafe for traffic. Connectivity between the region and the Alluri agency areas, as well as Narsipatnam, has been disrupted.
With several routes affected, vehicles are being diverted through alternative roads wherever possible. Police personnel have been deployed near causeways and vulnerable crossings to prevent accidents and stop people from attempting dangerous crossings. Travellers heading towards Paderu and Narsipatnam are facing considerable inconvenience due to the disruption. Authorities are maintaining vigilance in the affected areas as overflowing streams and damaged crossings continue to pose risks to road users.
