Heavy devotee rush continues at Tirumala Venkateswara Temple during the summer holiday season, with thousands of pilgrims arriving daily for the darshan of Lord Venkateswara. Over the past week, Tirumala has remained packed as devotees wait for long hours in queue lines. TTD officials have been managing the crowds through the Queue Line Management System and have been providing record numbers of darshans despite the heavy turnout.
In view of the increasing waiting time, which in some cases is extending up to 24 to 32 hours, the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has introduced a new “Re-Entry” system for devotees. Under this facility, pilgrims can temporarily leave the queue lines and rejoin two hours before their scheduled darshan time. The move is expected to provide major relief to elderly devotees, parents with small children, and those unable to remain in compartments for long hours. On Monday alone, 89,399 devotees had darshan of the deity, highlighting the unprecedented rush at Tirumala.
