YS Jagan Criticises Chandrababu Over Drought and Water Management

YS Jagan launched a sharp attack on the Chandrababu Naidu government over drought conditions and the challenges faced by farmers. He alleged that paddy nurseries are drying up due to inadequate rainfall and claimed that the government has failed to provide timely support. Jagan also accused ministers of focusing on publicity instead of addressing the crisis and said preventive measures should have been taken despite the anticipated El Niño effect.

Jagan also raised concerns over power generation at the Srisailam project by both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. He warned that continued power generation could bring the reservoir level down to 854 feet within three weeks, potentially affecting water availability for Rayalaseema. He further alleged that the state has recorded a 52% rainfall deficit since June, with 628 of the 688 mandals experiencing deficient rainfall, and criticised the government for not adequately acknowledging the drought situation.
