ED Makes Key Allegations Against Karumuri Nageswara Rao in Remand Report

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has made several key allegations in the remand report of YSRCP leader and former Andhra Pradesh minister Karumuri Nageswara Rao. The agency claimed that it found evidence of suspicious transactions worth ₹18.09 crore in the alleged liquor transportation case and alleged that Karumuri played a key role in the operation. The ED further alleged that he sought a 50% commission from liquor transportation profits and that ₹11.95 crore was transferred to family members’ accounts.

The ED told the court that Karumuri did not cooperate with the investigation and allegedly failed to appear despite being summoned around 10 times. The agency also expressed concern that he could influence or tamper with evidence if released. A special ED court in Hyderabad subsequently remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody, following which he was shifted to Chanchalguda Jail.
