The Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) and the Anti-Pharma City Struggle Committee have demanded that all lands belonging to unwilling farmers in Tatiparthy, Medipally, Nanaknagar, Kurmidda and nearby hamlets in Yacharam Mandal of Ranga Reddy district be excluded from land acquisition. They said these villages play a vital role in supplying milk, vegetables, and leafy greens to Hyderabad, and warned that acquiring the land could affect the city's food security.
Releasing a public hearing report, the committee alleged that the government is continuing land acquisition without the consent of farmers. It criticised the Congress government for proceeding with land acquisition under the Future City project after promising to cancel the Pharma City project before the elections. The committee also accused authorities of bypassing Gram Sabhas and forcibly taking agricultural land from farmers.
