Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Joseph Vijay has emerged as one of India's most-followed political leaders on Instagram, surpassing Congress leader Rahul Gandhi in follower count. After leading his party to victory in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections and taking office as Chief Minister, Vijay witnessed a sharp rise in his digital presence. His official Instagram account now has 18.7 million followers, exceeding Rahul Gandhi's 14.7 million followers.

The growth highlights Vijay's expanding influence on social media and his ability to engage younger audiences through digital platforms. Meanwhile, former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK president M.K. Stalin has around 2.3 million Instagram followers. Members of the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) are also actively using Instagram to promote party initiatives and communicate the state government's welfare programmes and policies to the public.
