Supreme Court’s Key Decision on Nouheera Shaikh’s Assets

The Supreme Court has directed that properties belonging to Nouheera Shaikh, auctioned by the Enforcement Directorate, be registered in the names of buyers through the protocol registrar of the Telangana High Court. The directive comes after earlier orders to auction the assets acquired through alleged fraud on investors and return the proceeds to victims. Although 45 properties have been auctioned, the accused has reportedly refused to cooperate with the registration process.

A bench comprising Justices J. B. Pardiwala and Vinod Chandran assigned the responsibility to Protocol Registrar T. Venkateswara Rao. The court clarified that he will act on behalf of the accused and complete registrations at the sub-registrar offices. It also directed officials of the Enforcement Directorate to extend full cooperation in executing the process, ensuring that buyers receive legal ownership of the auctioned properties.
